There are countless cosmetic treatments on the market today, but injectables remain among the most popular at our office in Oklahoma CIty.
Injectables are chemical substances that are inserted into the skin with a needle to relax facial wrinkles, contour the face, or improve the signs of volume loss by creating structure and volume to the face and lips. These minimally-invasive treatments offer impressive results without significant recovery time.
Botox® is a drug that weakens or relaxes the muscle. In small doses, it can reduce skin wrinkles and help treat some medical conditions. The effects are temporary, lasting 3–4 months.
People often request injections into the following areas of the face: wrinkles between the eyebrows, called frown lines, glabellar lines, or elevens. Also, wrinkles around the eyes, known as crow’s feet, horizontal creases in the forehead, lines at the corners of the mouth, “dimpled” skin on the chin.
Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines and soften creases, or enhance facial contours. The most common issues dermal fillers can help address are: Smoothing out lines around the nose and mouth (a.k.a. marionette lines, smile lines, and parentheses), enhance & restore volume to sunken cheeks or temples, diminish vertical lip lines, plump & enhance the lips, smooth out a chin crease and improve symmetry among facial features.
A liquid facelift, while not surgical, uses injectables to fill wrinkles and add volume to the face for a younger, more refreshed look. By injecting dermal fillers into areas of the face with fine lines and volume loss, a similar effect to a traditional facelift can be accomplished. A liquid facelift will restore facial contours resulting in a more rested and energetic look.
